Functional Lab Testing
Data-Driven Insights for Personalized Care
At At The Root Nutrition, I use functional lab testing to go beyond traditional healthcare assessments and uncover deeper insights into your health. These tests provide data-driven results that help pinpoint imbalances impacting your fertility, hormones, metabolism, and overall well-being. However, lab testing is just one piece of the puzzle—it must be paired with a thorough understanding of your health history, symptoms, and lifestyle to create an effective, personalized plan.
I offer a variety of comprehensive lab tests to assess key areas of health. Examples include:
Advanced Blood Work
Each panel is uniquely designed based on your individual needs, diving deeper than standard tests ordered through a doctor’s visit. Instead of assessing labs based on broad “normal” ranges, I interpret results using functional, optimal ranges to identify imbalances before they become full-blown issues.
Gut Health Testing
A comprehensive stool test to measure beneficial and harmful bacteria, detect fungi, viruses, and parasites, and assess digestive function, inflammation, and gut barrier integrity.
Hormone Testing
A deeper look at sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) and adrenal hormones (cortisol, DHEA) through urine and saliva collection methods, in addition to blood work. This allows for a more complete picture of hormone fluctuations throughout the day and cycle.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
A non-invasive test to assess mineral status, adrenal function, nervous system health, stress response, and toxic heavy metal exposure.
How It Works:
Functional testing is available exclusively for my 1:1 coaching clients as part of my 4-month coaching package. This ensures that your lab results are interpreted within the context of your full health picture and that you receive ongoing support to implement targeted strategies for lasting change.
